β€œI must have flowers, always and always!”

My journey to Milli Fleur.

My Floral journey started when I left school in 2011. I've always had a keen interest in all things creative and originally intended to study Textile Design. However, Floristry was something I really wanted to explore, so I decided to gain some work experience with a local Florist before heading off to college. I quickly fell in love with the shop and enjoyed learning all things floral. This led to an apprenticeship in Floristry and enrolling at Bicton College in Exeter.

After qualifying and working for a couple of years, I wanted to further my knowledge and ability in Floristry. I studied at Writtle College in Essex where I gained my City & Guilds Level 3. Whilst at Writtle, I had the opportunity to work with some of London’s leading florists. Amongst other things, I helped dress the main rooms for the BAFTA Television Awards, created displays for corporate giants such as Harrods and The Gherkin, and arranged planters for Barclays Headquarters.

I graduated from Writtle with both a Distinction and the β€˜Top Student’ Award.

After leaving Writtle, I decided to move back to Devon and open my own Floristry business. That's when Milli Fleur was born!

Milli Fleur has allowed me to embark on my own adventure. 7 years on, the business is still growing and evolving.

I've been very fortunate in my Floristry career and whilst I enjoy creating everything from bouquets to floral tributes, I especially love being a part of a couple’s special day. I work closely with my couples, guiding them in their choice of bridal bouquets and buttonholes. I've decorated a variety of wedding venues, including my own!

I'm really looking forward to this year's wedding season.

I was honoured to be awarded Best Florist in the South West of England in 2020 and many of my weddings have been featured in β€˜Wed Magazine’ and β€˜Devon and Cornwall Weddings’.

I loved working for Vogue and Gucci, using my flowers to dress their campaigns.

I would describe my work as delicately wild, displaying flowers in their natural form and letting them speak for themselves, shown organically with a 'freshly picked' look. I like to think my style is versatile, tailoring creations to suit each couple's vision.

I have met some friendly and amazing couples who have travelled from all over the world to get married in the beautiful surroundings of Devon and Cornwall. Each brings something different and unique to the consultation.

I have my own workshop and I live with my husband and our gorgeous little rescue dog Dora. When we aren't fitting floral installations, we love hiking and heading off to the beach to go surfing, along with finding cute coffee shops and art galleries.
